Last Sunday’s post was about church and community, as is today’s post. We’ve shared this event on multiple occasions, but it is so special. St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church allows the community to use its parking lot for the Saturday Corner Market. Vendors bring food, raw and straight from the ground, to prepared items like John Drees’ famous soups, pastries from “Breakfast in Paris,” and so much more.

We don’t know if this community-oriented gesture brings in more members, but to be sure, it is a much-appreciated act of outreach. Seeing that spire in the distance, as if looking over the market, reminds us of the goodness inside the church and the beauty of a market community they help sustain.

Happy Sunday! If you missed the farmers market yesterday, you’ve still got an opportunity to attend a service at St. Andrew’s on West Market Street. Besides, there is always next week, and the next, and the next. The church and the market are calling us.
