Fisher Park is the neighborhood across the street from First Presbyterian Church, on the east side of Elm Street. It is also home to the park featured in the photo above. Yesterday afternoon was especially lovely, with dappled light filtering through the trees and adding so much character to the path.
We were walking through the park to visit the Genesis Marker, which was erected in 1971 at the approximate geographic center of Greensboro based on the city’s boundaries when it was founded in 1808. Established in 1902, Fisher Park was Greensboro’s first suburban neighborhood and public park. There are also plenty of places to sit if you’d like to take a walk and linger for a while.
Happy Thursday!
