Church Street is such a great street when it is closed off during festivals. Between Summit and Friendly Avenue, you walk past the Greensboro History Museum, the Children’s Museum, and the Central Library. LeBauer Park and the Cultural Arts Center are also easily accessible from Church Street. This area is a popular part of the footprint for downtown festivals.

The photo above was taken from Mary Lynn Richardson Park, looking over onto the Edible Schoolyard at the Children’s Museum and its bright red, cedar greenhouse. In this charming space, children can learn about growing, harvesting, and cooking food. Taken during the recent NC Folk Festival, the view in the photo was another reminder of how the festival brings people together and fills these familiar downtown spaces with such great energy. Today would be a good day to head downtown and explore these community resources.
