Yesterday: A Beautiful Day in Greensboro

Yesterday, the weather was beautiful in Greensboro. At 69-85 degrees, it wasn’t too hot and not too cool. It didn’t rain and, as you can see from the above photo– taken at 7pm in our yard– sunshine created warm, filtered light. It was as if the earth were breathing slowly letting go of the day, preparing for the same view by the light of the full moon.

Usually, we are busy urban adventurers, out visiting people, places, and events in Greensboro. Every once in a while, we pause, to sit in the yard and observe the beauty around us. Looking closely yesterday, we saw a yellow jacket attacking what appeared to be a cicada; and then, a spider had captured a small cricket and was waiting for the wiggling to stop. Overhead, a red-tailed hawk circling and making his raspy, whistling scream (and we live within the city limits).

There is a busy world teeming with life all around us. It can be so fun to simply observe.

Happy Thursday!
