Have you been using the City of Greensboro’s public libraries this summer? Instead of running out to buy our readily-available book club selection, we checked out a copy form the public library. Not only did we save the $20, each time a book gets circulated, it adds to the metrics to justify the library’s staffing and budget and to help secure grants. What a win/win.
While we were at the Kathleen Clay Edwards Branch at Price Park picking up our book, we noticed the advertisement for their upcoming event, MOTHNIGHT. On Thursday, July 23rd, from 8:30- 9:00, there will be some indoor moth fun and then time outdoors to participate in citizen science. Butterflies and bees tend to get all the glory, but moths have been around for 134 million more years than butterflies (reference HERE, where you can read some more fun facts to get ready for MOTHNIGHT). After getting a start on moth fun at the library, you can head home and hunt for moths closer to home.
HERE is a list of all the public library branches in Greensboro, their locations and hours. We encourage you to see what they are offering that may be of interest.
