Bur-Mil Marlins

The above photo features the Bur-Mil Marlins swim team in line waiting to march in for Saturday’s entrance parade. Teams file in by the order in which they finished in the previous year. All members of the swim teams are encouraged to march in the parade. This generates camaraderie and is a great way to kick off the final portion of the three day meet.

The Bur-Mil Marlins are one of 19 members of Greensboro’s Swim Association. They have the distinction of being the only public swim team in Greensboro. Participants don’t have to pay membership dues to be part of the team.* They practice at Bur-Mil Park in Owls Roost. The 2026 season is over, but they’ll be back next year. Events and interest meetings will likely start in May, so start talking to people now. Their weekday hours are 11am-5pm, Saturdays 10-5, and Sundays 12-5. This is such good, clean, summer fun!

Happy Tuesday!
