The Biltmore Greensboro Hotel, on West Washington between South Elm Street and Greene Street, is currently undergoing renovations. It is being modernized and it sounds like the furniture and amenities will be more hotel-like and less, old-world-charm. The new name will be Hotel Orlo, harkening back to Mr. Orlo Ebb, the architect of the building.
At over 120 years old, this is the oldest hotel in Greensboro. It features 25 rooms and four suites. The last renovation was in 2007 and the current one is costing over a million dollars.* This botique hotel is scheduled to open at any time. We can’t wait to get inside and see how it looks now. It will be a perfect place for performers and audience members at the Pyrle (formerly Triad State) to stay for the night. Both venues have a new life and add to the energy of our great downtown.
Happy Thursday!
