These green tree frogs sure love hanging around our house. This one is stuck to the window on the back side of our house. We’ve since learn from Leigh Ann Henion’s book “Night Magic” that artificial light can really create problems for wildlife. Since reading the book, we’ve cut down on our light pollution. and no longer leave outside lights on all night. Motion detection lights are a good way to assuage our fears of what can happen at night, by still leaving us protected.

Greensboro is known for hosting a thriving, abundant number of tree frogs. North Carolina is known for having about 30 tree frog and toad species. The above green tree frog is easily identified by the stripe down the side. They love to hang around yards with a clean water source. They are known as being predator and prey; helping control the insect population.
