Missing Frank Russell

Did you ever meet Greensboro trash-to-fish artist Frank Russell? Frank (Franklin Delano Russell) was born in 1952 and died on Janaury in January of 2026. He was known for his wimsical sculptures, usually involving fish or marine live. We first learned of this work through Art Mongers Gallery in the 600 block of South Elm Street. However, the community’s love of his artwork took his artwork to many places around town.

Frank was born in Warrington, NC. The above piece, on display at the continental club, is represented of his keen ability to take scrap metal and transform it into a fish or anything that lives under the sea. He is missed by family, friends, artists, and patrons in Greensboro! Do you have one of his sculptures? We wish we did.
