
Churches, illuminated at night, are so majestic. The above is College Park Baptist Church at the southwest corner of Walker Avenue and Josephine Boyd. While the church congregation was established in 1906, the above sanctuary building was constructed in 1952. While this is a Baptist church, it is extremely liberal and welcoming. The church has a rich history of serving the university students, with many referring to the church as a home-away-from-home. They are known for having great cooks and even have a casserole committee! They have youth, global, and local missions. Read about the ministries and missions HERE. They host Al-Anon and Narc-Anon meetings, in their effort to nourish now only the spiritual, but also the mental needs community members.
