Kimberly Akimbo at Tanger!

We were walking along Elm Street recently and saw the Tanger posters along the street view of Elm Street Center (located at 203/207 South Elm). This building, constructed in 1949) was formerly the Ellis-Stone Department Store, popular with the growing, post-WWII population of Greensboro back before suburban malls drew business away from town. Most recently, the building was an event venue, hence the name Elm Street Center.

Now that the building is vacant. the windows serve as a billboard. We are reminded that the Sound of Music has come and gone, but Kimberly Akimbo is at the Tanger this center and it is getting good reviews. You still have several opportunities to see it. And, as an idea, if you saw one of these performances at Tanger, you could make memories by posting in front of these vibrant posters. They would be “wicked” cute. Just don’t lean on the glass!

Happy Saturday!
