Sports in springtime are just such a part of the fabric of Greensboro. In addition to basketball, baseball, softball, and soccer, golf has been a mainstay for those looking for a social, low-impact, heart-healthy sport. There are 12- 15 public, municipal, and private golf courses. There are closer to 30 courses if you cound the surrounding area. Bryan Park, Grandover Resort, Sedgefield Country Club, Greensboro Country Club, and Bur-Mill Park are just a few local options.
The U.S. Open Local Qualifying Tournament will be at the Cardinal Golf and Country Club on May 12th. The AJGA Wyndham Invitational will be at Sedgefield Country Club June 8th-11th, and these are just a couple of options. The above photo features the Farm Course of the Greensboro Country Club off of Carlson Dairy Road. It is nice seeing people out, enjoying the nice weather, and getting exercise. For those of us who don’t golf, it is still fun to watch people playing.
Happy Thursday!
