The YOGA CONNECTION: Winter Solstice Event

Well, dear readers, we’re on the other side of the winter solstice. Hours of daylight are only increasing by seconds at first; however, psychologically, it helps to know sunrises will start happening earlier and sunsets later. In preparation for solstice, we attended the Yoga Connection’s 2025 Winter Solstice Celebration, held last Tuesday in the Fellowship Hall at New Garden Friends across from Guilford College.

The event brought together 65 participants and volunteers for an evening of movement, reflection, and connection. The above photo is of the board members with Founder and Director Mona Flynn, on the right.*

Together, the group celebrated the solstice while supporting The Yoga Connection’s mission of helping participants strengthen body, mind, spirit, and social connectedness. This fundraiser was a success, ensuring that YC will be able to offer their series for immigrant and refugee women.

If you were not one of the lucky 65 in attendance last week, follow The Yoga Connection on social media, consider volunteering, donating, and participating in their Summer Solstice event.

Happy Monday!
