February 1 Place was hopping this weekend. There was the art opening we featured on Saturday at the Greensboro Project Space on this street. The above scene features a 1978 Volkswagen Super Beetle convertible parked on February 1. In the background is the vintage Rolex clock, located in front of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, located at 111 West February 1 Place.
As for this alpine white, Volkswagen sedan, it was spotless. It must have been well cared for over the last 48 years. We hope it strolled Elm Street later in the night. We were wondering if this vehicle could have been purchased from Flow Volkswagen, but they didn’t open in Greensboro until 1986. They started selling Volkswagens in Winston-Salem in 1961, so it could have been purchased there. The demand for used cars in the USA remains strong. We’re betting it fill find an owner soon. For now, we were impressed at how much it added to the above photo. We’d love to take it on a photo shoot. If only we were in the market for a car.
Happy Tuesday!
