We posted a photo of this snake in the FaceBook group, N.C. Snake Identification & Education. Their rule is the only the person who posted the photo of a snake is allowed to say what they think it is. Plus, the person who posts has to share what location in North Carolina the snake was seen. A group moderator will verify the guess. On the day we were hiking, the snake slithered across the trail and down to the water. We gave it plenty of space and did not move until it was well out of the way. We zoomed in for this photo. The snake ignored us. If you give them their space, they do not feel threatened. After all, they don’t go around looking for trouble.
Happy Friday!
