Happy Hanukkah 2021

Hankkah is an 8-day festival of light commemorating the recovery of Jerusalem and the rededication of the Second Temple in the second century BCE. Hanukkah ends tomorrow (Monday, December 6th, so tonight, the menorah (above) will be shining brightly with all eight candles lit. The above menorah is installed in Greensboro at Temple Emanuel at the corner of Hobbs and Jefferson.

This menorah is one of the largest in North Carolina. Members of the Brotherhood group at Temple Emanuel  help install the menorah every year. . The installation is both a religious act, and, an opportunity to have a little fellowship with other men who attend the temple. .The menorah looks much more impressive in person and on a clear night when it is illuminated. If you get a chance, drive by tonight and have a look! Have a nice day and, Happy Hanukkah! The Jewish community has done so much for Greensboro and their positive influence is seen everywhere, including at the corner of Hobbs, and Jefferson!
