This week, we’ve been in search of local foods to put in gift baskets, which led us to Bestway Grocery Store on Walker Avenue. One of the items we found was Chad’s Carolina Corn, gourmet popcorn. We like spicy foods and so we purchased the Jalapeño Cheddar flavor and it was very good. Chad’s is a family run business, based in Greensboro,  with an office at 6900 C Citation Court in Greensboro (photographed above). We happened to be near Citation Court, which is located near the airport, off Industrial drive and just north of I-40 and Burnt Poplar Road.

At the time we were at Chadd’s on Citation, nobody was in the office. At Greensboro Daily Photo, we do a lot of stopping by and dropping in. We have a lot of questions for Chad and wanted to meet the person behind this local product.  We’d love their back story to share with you and to share with people who receive Chad’s Carolina Corn from us for Christmas. We’ll be sure to let you know when we uncover more. In the meantime, if you want to try the popcorn for yourself, it has a wide distribution in the south (see HERE). It would be fun to sample all of the flavors. We like what we’ve tried so far and did not get one unpopped kernel in our bag! We think dill pickle flavor will be our next choice.
