The above photo was taken at the corner of Spring Garden Street at Holden Road. We were stopped at a red light next to this white van with the curious canine. Summer is a time when some vehicles drive along with all windows closed and the air conditioning blasting. This vehicle is the opposite extreme; driving along with windows down and their canine loving life. If you have a dog, you probably already know that Greensboro has some great options for boarding dogs if you need to travel. Also, if you are wanting a canine companion, there are plenty that need to be adopted. Here is a link to the Guilford County Animal Shelter. The last time we checked, there were at least 75 dogs looking for homes. The SPCA also has dogs (here); and then there are cats. We have a friend who rescues cats and are trying to feature her here on GDP. However, she is so busy rescuing, it has been hard to find a mutually convenient time.  Have a great Thursday and let us know if you adopt a pet, or know of another good, local agency for adopting.
