Wrangler Sign: Going, Going, Not Gone...

Over the years, there have been a lot of changes in Wrangler of Greensboro. The Bluebell Company introduced Wrangler jeans in Greensboro in 1947. The brand was launched in Europe in 1962. In 2001, Wrangler started making jeans in Mexico. In 2005, last Wrangler sewing plant closed in the United States.*

As of last week, The Wrangler brand is now owned by Kontoor, a publicly-traded company with the stock symbol KTB. VF will move its headquarters to Denver; however, Kontoor and Wrangler are  to remain in Greensboro. We were a little concerned last week upon seeing the word “Wrangler” being removed from the corporate building on North Elm Street. Fortunately, “Wrangler” was one of the words put back up on the building. Stop back by Greensboro Daily Photo tomorrow and we’ll show you the building and signage as it looks now.
