How far would you drive for a concert? How much would you pay for a ticket? Last night, Elton John performed his farewell tour at PNC Stadium in Raleigh. Based on the traffic returning to Greensboro after the concert, it appeared that Greensboro was well represented at the concert.

During the 1970’s, Elton John played at least three concerts in the Greensboro Coliseum, one of which was with Billy Joel. One person online, reminiscing about attending, commented that he paid $5 for his ticket and that he still had the stub. Unfortunately, Elton John doesn’t have a performance scheduled for Greensboro.

Last night, Elton John and his band played for over 2 1/2 hours with a couple of quick costume changes. He said some very nice things about North Carolina and expressed gratefulness to the fans.
