Greensboro has a relatively new bicycle shop, DOWNTOWN BICYCLE WORKS. The shop, owned and managed by the French family, sells BMX bicycles. It is a full-service repair shop. They do repairs on the spot, new or vintage bikes, with no appointment necessary. They are located in the 600 block of south Elm Street and open seven days a week. They plan to start renting bicycles. 

Over the past few years, bike riding has been on the rise in Greensboro as have bike lanes and greenway riding miles. With technology and apps, it is easy to find or map your own ride that is perfect for your fitness level. While bicycle motocross (BMX)  bikes are primarily off-road sport bicycles, used for stunt riding and racing racing, there are times when they need to get from Point A to B. The French family is committed to keeping your bike up and running.
