Church Signage

Remember when church signs were something that you had to brave the elements to change by hand. Rain, snow, sleet, or blazing sun, if a preacher wanted his spiritual food for thought, he had stand by the road and attach the letters by hand. Now, even some of Greensboro’s oldest churches, like Mount Pisgah Methodist Church, at the northeast corner of Pisgah Church and Battleground, have digital signs that are programed remotely. Nor more black and white same-size, same-font lettering. The signs are now multi-color and can accommodate multiple messages: something spiritual, plus announcements and lists of events.

Before we know it, Mt. Pisgah’s lovely green lawn will be full of pumpkins and gourds of all sizes, colors, and shapes. Likely, the dates of their great pumpkin patch will be announced on the digital sign soon, if it isn’t already.

Literally, what a SIGN of the times!
