Yesterday afternoon, with it being sunny and well in the 60s, people were buzzing around downtown Greensboro enjoying First Friday. The above photo features the 300 block of South Elm Street, with people traveling by car, bicycle, motorcycle, foot, and stroller/tricycle (if you notice, all vehicles were red!). Fruit trees still had blossoms on them and everyone seemed happy that it was a spring Friday. Cheesecakes by Alex was backed out the door, outdoor seating at Natty Greene’s was full, clubs had people waiting to get in, and the Goodwill had their upscale shopping event “Willows” going strong at Elm Street Center– formerly the Ellis-Stone Department Store.
If you want to capture downtown at its best, consider attending the next First Friday event. From Center City Park, to LeBauer Park to the Cultural Arts Center on Davie Street to the north, all the way to Gate City Boulevard in the south, Elm Street was teeming with families and activities. It is people who make a city and each and every one of us have so much to offer. If you weren’t downtown last night, make up for it today by strolling along Elm Street!
Whatever you decide to do, have a great day!
