Guilford County Schools has some fabulous art teachers and students. The above photo features one of many pieces of artwork currently on display at the Cultural Arts Center on Davie Street in Greensboro. The mixed media collage is one of many from the 4th grade at Parkview Village. The art teacher is J. Jones-Hunt and the paintings are reminiscent of Chagall, with students cutting out photos and attaching them so they look like they are floating above houses of worship.

It is so important for children to have access to a well rounded curriculum that includes the performing and visual arts. The Davie Street Cultural Arts Center does so much for the children of Greensboro and Guilford County. Sundays are a day for reflection, especially of a spiritual nature. Seeing this beautiful and expressive piece of art is nothing short of heavenly. Happy Sunday.
