The tulip magnolia, also known as mulan magnolia, it starting to bloom in North Carolina. With so many plants starting to bloom now, we’ve got to hope that they don’t get too beaten down by rain. According to the North Carolina State Beekeepers Association, sugar maples should start blooming in the Piedmont this week too.

This is a busy weekend for Greensboro. Tonight is First Friday, so downtown will be lively. Also, the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament is in full swing at the Coliseum, culminating with the championship game to be played on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. We should all go out and support this series; no only because it is good basketball, but we want to show that Greensboro is a great basketball town. After all, spring and basketball tournaments just seem to go together. Happy Friday!
