Victorian Beauty on Percy Street

This house, at 671 Percy Street, in the Aycock Historic District is one of the many Victorian-style homes in the neighborhood. The inviting porch comes in handy in the evenings and weekends when people sit outside and visit with family and neighbors. As a historic district, the integrity of the appearance of the homes is diligently maintained. Residents of the neighborhood are committed to keeping it family friendly and beautiful.

Next time you are headed to the Farmers’ Market on Yanceyville, drive around the streets near Cypress, Percy, Summit, and Fifth Avenue. Some homes are already restored to their full glory; others, are works in progress. The above house, asa the crow flies, is only about a mile from downtown Greensboro. From the greenery surrounding the yard, it is hard to believe it is so close to town.
