As seen in yesterday’s photo, Our Lady of Grace (OLG) Church on West Market Street was busy. It looked like a wedding was in progress. The sign of a healthy, thriving church is one with many activities and events, in addition to regular services. This Roman Catholic Church was built in 1952. It was funded by Julian Price in loving memory of his wife Ethel. He was a lifelong Baptist, but she was Catholic. Sadly, Mr. Price died in a car accident and did not live to see this lovely church built. It has so many nice features. The pink granite on the exterior is from Salisbury, NC and the stained glass windows were imported from Belgium. The church is a real beauty, outside and in. It also has a 2.226-pipe Kleuker organ. 

OLG also has a K-8 school on site. If you are looking for a great solid education for your children, as well as a foundation in Catholicism, OLG is a great option. During the week, you can see children coming and going and playing outside. On the weekend, families are coming and going. Everyone seems happy. Mr. Price was President and Chairman of Board of Jefferson Standard, one of Greensboro’s anchor businesses. He would be mightily impressed at all of the great happenings at OLG and the Madonna and child above the front entrance is breathtaking. Happy Sunday!
