Traveled Farmer

Last night, the Traveled Farmer was hopping. Located beside RED Cinemas, the restaurant is very popular, especially with the movie-going crowd. You may remember this building in midtown formerly housed Marshall Free House, a restaurant and upscale bar that closed in 2016. The look of the Traveled Farmer restaurant remains largely the same, but with more lighting and with a locally-sourced food market. The Traveled Farmer bills itself as an establishment that provides global flavors with local ingredients.

Executive Chef Jay Pierce, formerly at Lucky 32, has made a commitment to deepening relationships with local food partners. The “keep it local” movement seems to be a great recipe for success. If you are driving on Battleground near town, look for the rows and rows of outdoor string lights. The parking lot evokes a feeling of Little Italy in NYC. Inside, it feels a lot like Greensboro.

We’re hoping you feel joyful on this warm Saturday in February.
