Historically, eastern Guilford County is the part of the county with multi-acre properties, farms, including dairy farms, in a bucolic setting. 4-H has been well represented in this part of the county. The above wooden farm house, located on Bethel Church Road, is representative of the rural side of eastern properties. It evokes the simpler style of life in previous centuries, back in the day when people worked the land, worked hard, and family mattered- above all.  The rectangular architecture, large front porch and large trees are inviting. This is the view from the road. In the rear of the property are implements needed to work the land.

The manicured, green grass helps us transition from summer and warm weather. The trees have started losing their leaves, hinting that winter is on the horizon. We wish we could have been there last night to have watched the moon rise. There is so little light pollution; the super moon must have looked stunning.
