As part of the 17 Days Arts and Culture Festival in Greensboro, colorful fabric is popping up all over Greensboro. The above photo features the fabric featured in the window at the Red Canary Fabric Print Studio at 506 South Elm Street, Suite B. You can also see some of these pieces at Mack and Mack Clothing at 220 South Elm. The fabrics are printed from artwork by Hollis Gabriel and artist/seamstress Ann Tilley. Not only are the outfits, scarves and wraps made in Greensboro, the art for the fabric is made by Greensboro artists. Truly, from concept to completion, these clothes can be branded as “Made in Greensboro.”

In the education arena today, much emphasis is placed on S.T.E.A.M. programs, science, technology, engineering, art, and math, all of which are necessary to bring this clothing to life. But, buyer beware, if you have one of these pieces, you’ve got to be in a good mood and spread cheer the entire time you sport these happy patterns.
