High School Football

Friday night high-school football and fall weather just seem to go together. The above photo was taken at Jamieson Stadium on the campus of Grimsley High School. The stadium seats 10,000 people and on the night of a game, you can hear the crowd, announcers, band, and drumlines for miles around. Enthusiasm swells with every good play. This week, Grimsley has an away game, so the above-photographed Comer Family Center will probably be quiet. Fans will have to wait another week to come out and celebrate their Whirlie Pride. Alternatively, they can head to Northwest High School, home of the Vikings, and watch them battle the Whirlies.

Here, our friends at WFMY-News have posted a schedule for the district.  Think s’mores, leaves changing colors, college and high school football, pumpkin spices, and apple picking. Greensboro is lovely in the fall. If you want photos with green leaves on trees, get out there and take them now, otherwise, you’ll have to wait about 6 months! Happy Friday!
