Since FULL STOP by Tom Burckhardt, at the Weatherspoon Museum, is in its last couple of weeks of being shown, we wanted to remind you to stop and have a look. The artist built an entire artist’s studio out of cardboard and it is brilliant. As you can see from the photos, everything from the front doors to the toilet to the stove, the books, floor, paint brushes radiator, you name it, is out of cardboard. There is so much creativity in the idea of taking a weak material- cardboard- and making look like something strong. You are allowed into the life-size, paper studio and you are allowed to take photos. Just don’t touch anything. The oil in your hands is bad for the paper. We took a group of high school students this week and their assignment was to write a review about it. In the mini-writers’ workshop, it was fun to hear them say that the exhibit would not be recommended for little children, unless with parents; because, they would want to touch everything. We wanted to, too.

Today, we’ll feature more photos than words because, sometimes, with art, pictures are worth a thousand words! Every time we go, we see something different, like the names of the books the artist owns, plus the portraits on the wall!
