H is for Hope

Hope M. Gruber, MD has practiced dermatology in Greensboro for twenty-eight years and has loved every minute of it. Within a few minutes of conversing with her, it is clear that she is a caring, dedicated professional.  She loves the interaction with her patients and tries to make a personal connection with each of them.

In her spare time, Dr. Gruber loves trying Greensboro’s ethnic restaurants as well as attending as many theatrical productions as possible. She is a season ticket holder to Triad Stage, Community Theatre of Greensboro, and the UNCG Theatre. While she is a big supporter of the performing arts, her face lights up when she mentions all of the wonderful people who are part of her theatre groups. She has a different circle of friends for each venue, bringing even more wonderful people into her life. Another favorite pastime is ballroom dancing. She speaks highly of the Fred Astaire Studio, where initially, she went just to learn to swing dance, but ended up staying and branching out into many areas of dance. She especially enjoys dancing salsa.

When asked what she loves about Greensboro and how she decided to live here, Dr. Gruber said that it was a nice Southern community with a diverse mixture of people. She noticed that Greensboro has a thriving, vibrant, and well-respected Jewish community. Throughout the years, she has made deep and lasting friendships through Temple Emanuel, Bnai Shalom and the American Hebrew Academy. Now that her two sons are grown, she spends more time attending community fundraisers, especially those spearheaded by friends. She is thankful for all of the diverse, positive, and upbeat people in her life and is very happy about her decision to live in Greensboro. Today is ABC Wednesday and, for our A-Z People Series, “H” is for Hope.
