We saw this hawk on the lawn at Bennett College this past weekend; and he was not about to move, no matter how close the camera lens got to him. He was enjoying a squirrel for lunch and was staying for the last drop.  He seemed pretty content to be hanging out in the large grassy area in the middle of Bennett’s campus. We wonder if he lives there. It appears to be a red-tailed hawk, which is the most common hawk in North America. The red-tailed hawk is one of 473 species of birds found in North Carolina. (See the list, here). How many have you spotted? It would be fun to keep track!

Update on the “kissing couples” from yesterday. Hard as we’ve tried, we can’t find a winner. We can’t even find a phone number for 100.3 FM in High Point. We did post a query on their Facebook page.
