This photo, taken at ground level in northwest Greensboro, reminds of Good Friday. It is almost as if it were taken from a gravesite. Hyacinths are everywhere this time of year, while trees do not yet have leaves. If you know someone who is homebound or having trouble getting around, consider stopping by and greeting them with some spring flowers. These bulbs can be planted in the ground once they are finished blooming in their containers to be enjoyed for years to come. If you are far away, consider sending a special person this photo and wishing them happy spring, Happy Passover, Happy Easter, or happy whatever-they-celebrate.
All schools in Guilford County are closed today and the roads are silent, without school busses and parents out shuttling their children from point A to point B. If you will, enjoy this time of repose, whether you are fasting or simply resting before a busy weekend.
