The WORX is a new restaurant just south of the railroad tracks off of South Elm Street. This is a part of downtown that has only recently been repurposed. The 1890’s building is just perfect for the bistro/pub restaurant within. Hopefully, the new-to-the-neighborhood Worx is increasing traffic for neighboring businesses Crown Lion Antiques and Jae-mar Brass Shop. The street is actually called Barnhardt and is one of two gateways to South End Parking Lot. In the summer, the parking lot is a pop up market with lots of local vendors. 

In this photo, the lighting is especially attractive and the stark-twiggy trees frame the buildings beautifully. As Greensboro is immersed in a single-digit, deep freeze (mild compared to much of the USA), we are reminded that winter brings with it a special beauty. The above scene evokes a quote from Greensboro’s beloved writer, O. Henry. “By nature and doctrines I am addicted to the habit of discovering places wherein to feed.” And winter is an especially fun time to go in from the cold and ruminate. Stay warm!
