Summer 2013 has been unbelievable rainy in Greensboro. According to the NOAA’s* precipitation and climate charts, rainfall has been above normal in Greensboro and temperatures have been at or below average. August has been unseasonably cool. The above photo was taken in the Battleground Wal-Mart on Saturday during the lull between downpours. This mother daughter team decided to head to their car while it was still drizzling. Local Wal-Marts were PACKED with back to shoppers. This season of open houses is upon us.

If you have children still in school, or know someone who is a teacher, please send some encouraging words their way. Teaching is an all-consuming profession. Also, if you have an extra box of tissues or bottle of hand sanitizer, there is a classroom waiting to welcome it! Perhaps the young lady, above, has school supplies in her navy-battleship gray shopping bag.
