It is the first Tuesday in August, which means that it is time for National Night Out!

Locally, the Greensboro Police Department sponsors this community-building, crime and drug prevention program. Greensboro has won awards for our efforts in this event. Locally, over 100 neighborhoods participate. Hopefully, regardless of where you live, you are celebrating the event tonight.

The above photo was taken on a green-space island within a cul-de-sac on Queen’s Court. Queen’s Court is located in the Kirkwood neighborhood off of Lawndale (near Target). If their Fourth of July celebration is any indication, Kirkwood will celebrate National Night Out in style- block parties, cookouts, porch lights aglow, children playing outside past their bedtime, and more. From the looks of the above raised tomato bed, park bench, bird bath and decorative tables, Queen’s Court celebrates National Night Out 365 days a year!
