We just can’t get yesterday’s featured street, Pamlico Drive, out of our head. This photo was taken in front of the white fence in yesterday’s yard across the street (here). Can you imagine being in this white house and looking out to see these flowers in all their glory? Can you imagine tending your roses and looking up to see that crisp-as-linen white house? Reciprocal beauty is the ultimate in neighborly love. You keep your home and garden beautiful for me and I’ll do the same for you. 

In preparing a second post on Pamlico Drive, the play on words, “One More for the Road” came to mind. Granted, the song is a sad saloon song; however, it evokes the beauty of the voices of Fred Astaire, Frank Sinatra, and Billy Holiday. The song was originally written for the 1943 movie, The Sky’s the Limit, a contemporary of this little, white house, built in 1947. Do you think maybe a soldier returning from World War II, bought this house for his new family with money loaned to him through the G.I. Bill?
