Beep, beep! Hello dear readers, it’s  ABC Wednesday and, as you know, we’re going through the alphabet with a Greensboro street a week. Today, we’re offering “N” for Neal Street. Neal Street is located in the Glenwood neighborhood; it starts at Oak Street and continues a half a mile north to Lee Street. Neal Street is typical of Glenwood neighborhood: smaller, fairly well-maintained homes on a quiet street with a mix of both owner-occupied and rental properties. Notice the vintage Ford Thunderbird, parked on the street. As you look down to the end of the street, you can see new student housing for UNCG. 

One cannot mention Neal Street without recognizing the Salvation Army Boy’s Club located at 840 Neal. The large, red brick facility, while not visible in the photo, has been in the current location since 1957. However, the Salvation Army has been helping children in Greensboro since the 1930’s.
