Congregational United Church of Christ is tucked on 400 Radiance Drive between Friendly Center and a cut-through from Aycock/Westover Terrate. While the featured building was constructed in 1952, the congregation’s history dates back to 1900 in Greensboro. The origins of the religion and its membership date back to Pilgrims, Puritans, Germans and reformers in England and Europe in the 16th century.
The sanctuary of the above property was remodeled in 1993. This Congregational UCC only has an active membership of about 300. Given its somewhat hidden location, it is hard to find the church at first but, people who attend say, the effort is all worthwhile. The ever-popular Rev. Julie Peeples is the dynamic pastor who has been leading the church since 1991.
