Z is for Zink Imaging!

ZINK is located on I-85/I-40 between Greensboro and Burlington in the building that used to house Konica. As a matter of fact, ZINK is located on Konica Drive. ZINK stands for zero ink and is a technology in which color is embedded in printer paper and so no ink cartridges are needed for digital printing. What a great idea. No cartridges for landfills. No mess. Images appear almost magically.

Zink was founded in 2005. According to their website, the zero ink technology has taken years to develop and is the collaborative effort of many different professionals including many scientists. ZINK has over 100 patents and more in the pipeline. The Chairman of the Board/President/CEO is Wendy Frey Caswell. We’ve been waiting since August to post this photo for the last letter this round of ABC Wednesday.  See GDP’s Y-A efforts here.

If we sign on for another series, we’re thinking of featuring streets for each letter of the alphabet. A is for Arcadia Drive, B is for Battleground, C is for Caldwell Street….. Let us know if you like that idea AND if you want your street/house/business featured! Remember, we’re looking for architecture, history, and buildings that showcase Greensboro.
