This is the Cirque Style Balancing Act at the Summer Solstice event last weekend. The man and woman twisted and stretched and balanced, using every muscle in their body. Unfortunately, we didn’t catch their names and couldn’t find them mentioned by name on the Solstice 2010 website. They were standing on wooden boxes but this view of just the two of them showcases that beautiful, Carolina blue sky! Also, they had more contortionistic poses but this one where her hands are extended like a bird in flight seemed to fit with Skywatch Friday. Finally, the couple delighted the audience after dark with their fire and baton dance.

As the temperature was over 100 degrees in much of North Carolina today, here’s to a weekend of staying cool.
