This dreamy, bucolic scene looks like it was taken on a farm in rural Guilford County. In reality, it was taken near town, on Elam Avenue this past weekend. Here we see a young couple working diligently to get their yard mulched and new plants in the ground. Their whole block, just south of Walker, seems to be taking the low maintenance approach to yardening. People are opting for flowers, bushes, vegetables and herbs, over grass. In some cases they are planting edibles.

We’ve about decided that where one sees orange flowers, purple ones are not far away. This photo fits our theory. It almost looks at if the people in the photo dressed to matched the plants, rudbeckia orange and hydrangea blue!
