Reuce, Reuse, Recycle

Reduce, reuse, recycle, likely, is the motto of this local, energy-efficient, rest stop that uses sustainable practices. Located about an hour south of Greensboro in Randolph County on I-73, we are proclaiming it THE destination rest stop of North Carolina. They are making every effort to be green. For example, over 4,000 wildflowers are planted on the roof of the museum/travel-information area of the facility. This planting harnesses the sun’s energy for something more productive than heating roof tiles! We’re pretty sure that it is a LEED certified site. Not to worry, there is a facility on the northbound as well as the southbound sides of the highway!

If you want to see a more colorful photo, view yesterday’s photo of pottery inside the museum on-site. The umbrellas at the bottom of the cascading water show a few of community organizations answering questions about their communities. We’re sharing this photo with Watery Wednesday and ABC Wednesday (R is for Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). Happy blogging, ya’ll.
