Do you recognize this view? We love it so much as it evokes the feel of a beach town in the rain. It was taken on State Street, just after turning east off of Golden Gate Drive. Bradford Street is off to the right, as is our destination– Vida Pour Tea. Tea pairs well with rainy days.

This photo is to remind us that Saturday, Octber 10th, State Street will hold a State Street Stroll. This time, there should be vendors both inside and outside of shops . Thirty five of the beige storefronts with awnings are owned by Cuadra Capital out of Charlotte. They purchased it in December 2025 for just under 12 million dollars. They have a vested interest in attracting customers to the area. To our knowledge, none of the shops is a franchise. It is always nice to help a locally owned business, especially when the owner has a visible presence. Head to the stroll and get out and support your neighbors.
