Recently, a bluebird came into our house via the flue of our wood stove. They like to try to build a nest at the top. Fortunately, the stove is not in use this time of year and we can open the back door and let them out. Of courst, it is not always that easy. It can be hard to help them see the door that is open when there are other light sources.
Since today is Sunday, we were looking for a religious reference for bluebirds, because they are native to the Americas. the Eastern Bluebird is a permanent, year-round, easily-recognized resident of Greensboro. In warm weather, they feast on insects, one of many reasons they are good to have around. We found this nifty map called, “Birds of North Carolina: Their Distribution and Abundance” (see HERE). If you have time for a little reflection and meditation today, let us suggest walking one of the trails around the lakes and see what birds you can see and hear.
