Graduation Season for GCS

Graduation season for Guilford County Schools (GCS) is upon us. The middle and early colleges hold their graduations first. They start school at the end of July/beginning of August and so they are all finishing for the academic year ahead of the timeline for traditional schools. The above photo features jubilant parents at the Middle College at UNCG. Graduation was yesterday afternoon, and families were waiting outside of the theatre at the corner of Tate and Spring Garden Streets to get photos with their graduates.

This cohort of 48 seniors leaves with a significant number of college credits. Additionally, 13 of the graduates will continue their education at UNCG. This seamless transition is so special because all of those college credits transfer easily. If you see a 2026 graduate from any of the 31 GCS high schools, be sure to congratulate them. They have worked hard.

Happy Thursday!
