The first and third Thursdays at the Back Table at 816 South Elm Street are filled with joyful music. This past Thursday, tunes were in the key of D. If you are a string band musician, you are invited to join the Piedmont Old Time Society jam. If you don’t play an acoustic instrument, they love an appreciative audience. On the night we were there, the barrista was delightful and a great conversationalist. She is a recent graduate from the animation program at UNCG.

We had fun trying the organic banana water and diving into Henion’s book, “Night Magic” that we purchased the evening of her talk. Also, since the last time we were at the Back Table, they’ve added a vintage store. With the Continental Corner just one door down, this area SOGAC (South of Gate City Boulevard) will likely be hopping tonight.
