Leigh Ann Henion

Last night, Leigh Ann Henion spoke at the Kathleen Clay Edwards Family Branch of the Greensboro Public Library. There was a large group there to hear the wisdom about exploring the natural words and the joy of observing nature in the dark. In her book, “Night Magic” she tells of her many adventures among glowworms, moon gardens, and all the marvels that emerge at night. Hension wants people to discover the restorative aspect of toning down the lights in our life and exploring the dark in a new way.

Melanie Buckinghem is the enviromental resources librarian at the Kathleen Clay Edwards Family Branch and she has planned some spectacular programs throughout the year and especially this summer. The branch offers a Green Reads Book Club, a nature journaling program for adults, many children’s programs, a mini-moth observation event and so much more. See the calendar HERE. The options are many. We were glad Scupperong Books was on site last night with Henion’s book. All the copies they brought sold on the spot. We can’t wait to start reading, to start turning off lights, and spending time outside at night!.

Happy Tuesday!
